All about Berghaus Edelhirsch

We are Coty and Jan van Rijssel, owners of the Berghaus Edelhirsch (Red deer mountain house) private holiday home in sunny and snow-sure Carinthia, on the three-country point (Dreiländereck) Austria – Italy – Slovenia.

Our spacious holiday home (120 square meters) is beautifully situated with views of two mountain ranges: the Villacher Alps Massif and the Karawanken.

We have furnished the holiday home extensively, with many extras, so you will want for nothing. It is heated by underfloor heating and a wood-burning stove for the atmosphere (free wood can be found on the side of the house), which gives off a pleasant warmth. The stone house is of traditional Austrian construction and therefore well insulated, and therefore wonderfully warm in winter and cool in summer. The house is also equipped with integrated shutters, so that the bedrooms can be darkened well.

In the living room you can relax in the cozy sitting area and there is a 4K Smart TV with Netflix and Canal Digital. There is WiFi and free internet throughout the house. In the cupboards you will find games, puzzles, Duplo and other toys for the children, and there is also a sled.

The modern kitchen is fully equipped: fridge, freezer, oven, induction cooker, microwave, dishwasher, toaster, Nespresso as well as a normal coffee maker, and a water boiler. There is a children’s chair for the dining table.

The large garden is south-facing with a swing and a sandpit that can be covered, and there is a large, partially covered terrace with a wood-fired hot tub, to relax all year round. Plenty of space to sit in the sun, or in the shade, if it gets too hot. In the evening you can enjoy the barbecue in the garden. A carport with space to place bicycles and a shed for storing garden furniture and the like. Next to the front door you will find a heated ski locker under the carport. Your ski boots will be waiting for you nice and dry the next morning! There is also a charging station for your electric car.

In the hallway you will find a toilet, and next to it the laundry room with washer / dryer combination, an iron, ironing board and vacuum cleaner.

On the first floor there are two large bedrooms:

• bedroom 1: a double box spring bed + a baby bed (the balcony room).
• bedroom 2: a double box spring bed + a single bed with high sides that lock on one side, ideal for smaller (and older) children).

And two bathrooms (one en suite), each with a wonderful rain shower, sink and toilet, and a large, wonderfully sunny balcony (2.5 x 8.5 meters).

There is also a fold-out cot for your baby or toddler available for your convenience.

An easily accessible and sturdy fixed staircase brings you to the second floor, where there is a third, spacious, fully furnished bedroom with three single box spring beds.

When booking you can indicate whether you want to use bath linen, bed linen, and whether you want the beds made before you arrive.
